West Sumatra's meat dish, Rendang, has been named one of CNN's 50 Best Foods in the World. All the spices needed to recreate Rendang are carefully selected and packed in a box for ease of use.

Contents of KOTAKOKI:

From kotakoki box

200ml coconut milk

1 turmeric leaf (tied up)

3 lime leaves

2 bay leaves 

2 Lemongrass (cracked and tied up)

1 cm ginger (peel and cracked)

2 cm galangal (peel and cracked)

Dry ingredients (dry rub)

½ tbs salt *(please add)

2 tsp ground cumin 

2 tsp ground white pepper 

1 tsp ground nutmeg 

*we sent you whole cumin, Whole white pepper, whole nutmeg, please grind them beforehand

 

Wet ingredients (mix and blend)

50gr shallots (peeled and roughly chopped)

50gr garlic (peeled and roughly chopped)

20gr red curly chili (for medium spicy level please adjust to your liking)

 

You need to add

500gr Beef (chuck/silverside)

Oil 80 ml

*½ tbs Salt

1 tsp brown sugar

300 ml Water

Note

Several fresh spices need to be used immediately upon receipt. If you will not cook it within 1 day after receipt, please keep the spices in the refrigerator (7 days shelf life), or freezer (up to 3 months).
